Mikey Welsh "Flowers"Top Text: In November, Iskra was asked to create a screen printed reproduction of a painting by the late Mikey Welsh, a longtime collaborator and dear friend of the studio, for a memorial art show at The JDK Gallery / Maglianero in Burlington, VT. We happily obliged, of course. The original "Flowers" is a massive and colorful two-section piece painted on the back of two old wooden doors, with a signature "Mikey" color palette and flowing, dripping lines. Using the original as inspiration, we successfully created our first seven-color print, the most colors we've ever pulled on one print. We hope you enjoy this print as much as we did making it. ![]() Mikey Welsh "Flowers" Original press release: "We are proud to present a limited-edition silkscreen reproduction print of Mikey Welsh's "Flowers" painting. Printed by Iskra Print Collective in Burlington, Vermont and first made available for a special memorial gallery show, "Celebrating The Life and Art of Mikey Welsh", featuring a wide variety of Mikey's painting and sculpture work, both old and new. This reproduction is a 7-color screen print, which happens to be the most colors that Iskra has used on a single print in the span of their career. The print measures at 11" x 14" and is printed on high quality 100# Finch Opaque Smooth Cover paper stock in a hand-numbered edition of 100 copies. A beautiful reproduction of one of Mikey's most lively and colorful works, bursting with warm energy and a unique sense of personal vision. Many thanks to Matt Mayer and Leo Listi of Iskra Print Collective for making this such a special piece."
