Into The White: Michael Jager + Craig Kelly + Iskra Print Collective
JDK Design press release:
"When snowboarder Craig Kelly died in an avalanche in 2003, the sport lost a devoted friend and leader. Kelly’s legacy as a visionary lives on in new collaborative artwork, "Into the White." "The art is based on photography David Roby and I created and directed almost 20 years ago," said JDK’s Michael Jager. "The piece is a series of portraits of Craig, a true hero in snowboarding and a rare individual and friend who saw the mountains like no other." "Into the White" draws on Craig's vision of snowboarding and its smooth and fluid relationship to nature. Photos of Craig captured in 1992 by David were built into a sequence of images guided by Michael and printed by the Iskra Print Collective. The work is part of the exhibit "Powderized," a show featuring art, video and photography inspired by snowboarding. "Powderized" curated by Michael Montanaro played at Propeller Media Works in Burlington through October 8th."
